Melissa has coached performers in theatre, film and theatrical displays including theatrical combat and circus arts. Over the past decade, both she and her students have earned numerous awards and state and national titles, including ‘Best Storyline’ for her performance at La Folie (2022). Melissa's teachings emphasise character development, emotional projection, and seeing beyond what's in one’s head to embrace the full scope of storytelling. She believes that ensemble work is the foundation of any outstanding performance. A proud member of the Liverpool Performing Arts Ensemble, based at CPAC, Melissa has taken on several leading roles, including Juliet in Romeo & Juliet (2022) and Nerissa in Nerissa Spills the Tea (2023). Week 1: Introduction to improvisation Week 2: Understand how the body can express emotion, character, and narrative. Week 3: Explore vocal expression and how to use the voice for different characters. Week 4: Begin to develop characters with distinct personalities.
