Short Course Watercolour Foundation!
In these 4 weekly short courses, we'll cover the essential techniques and concepts needed to start your journey with watercolour painting.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, this short course will provide you with a solid foundation to build upon.
In the first half of each class, we'll focus on foundational exercises and techniques, while the second half will be dedicated to applying these skills in painting projects.
Class #1, we will start by understanding three-dimensionality through basic drawing and shading with pencil, followed by practicing monochrome washes and the effective use of water in watercolour, with a theme centred on painting a farmhouse.
Class #2 will involve marking and applying colour washes to a single flower, exploring lifting techniques, and then painting simple flowers or fruits.
Class #3 will cover marking, masking, colour painting, and softening techniques, culminating in a painting of white gum trees.
In Class #4, we will review all previous techniques and introduce texturing and splashing methods, applying them to a painting of ducks in a garden.
