ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
THE VIEWS FROM HERE is a new exhibition in the Yellamundie Art Gallery. The exhibition features over 30 local and international artists whose artworks are held in the Liverpool City Council Art Collection.

The power of art lies in its ability to let us see the world from many perspectives. Liverpool is a place where our diversity is celebrated: we have some hard edges, and an under-celebrated beauty, but we are rich in culture and history.

This exhibition uses art to showcases these many facets which inform the identity of Liverpool.

THE VIEWS FROM HERE coincides with two historic moments: it is part of the inaugural gallery program of Yellamundie, and it also marks the 30th anniversary of Casula Powerhouse operating as an arts centre. Casula Powerhouse has a ground-breaking legacy of exhibiting art which taps into the psyche of Liverpool, and bringing these perspectives to national conversations. Casula Powerhouse’s expansion into the gallery spaces at Yellamundie ensures the communities of Liverpool have even greater access world-class contemporary art experiences, across both Casula Powerhouse and Yellamundie, which elevate the many perspectives of this large and lively place.

Artists Include: Abdullah M.I. Syed, Arthur McIntyre, Bankstown Koori Elders Group, Blak Douglas, Bridget Dolan, Brook Andrew, Faisal Al-Saadi, Gina Sinozich, Glenda Carter, Greg Semu, Javier Lara-Gomez, Joanne Saad, Judy Watson, Karen Coull, Kerrie Kenton, Kevin Butler, Lola Greeno, Luke Parker, Pamela Leung, Pamela Rodoreda, Raquel Ormella, Pat Larter, Steve Smith, Susan Grant Murphy, Youhan YU and Yvonne Koolmatrie.
