Go crazy about birds and join us for a Stop Motion Workshop!
In this Stop Motion workshop, children will have the chance to closely examine the Birds exhibition by artist Lisa Woolfe and discuss the work with an art educator.
Children will use their imagination to brainstorm and produce stories of birds, and use mixed media like puppets to build their Stop Motion characters and background.
Children will use their creations to learn the basic skills of Stop Motion, in which they will create, film and construct their very own bird stories.
Children are encouraged to bring their own devices and have the free app Stop Motion downloaded.

Experience Lisa’s immersive exhibition and get hands-on in our creative workshop space at the Viewing Platform. Entry is free! Installed in the cavernous industrial space of the Turbine Hall, Lisa’s lofty sculptural birds constructed from utilitarian materials adorn the ceiling, and her huge hand-drawn animations fill the hall with the delightful gliding, swooping and soaring patterns of the Australian Raven. This event will take place in the Kids Studio on Level 1. Please ask our friendly Reception staff for directions.
